ORDITAL provides database storage either with or without access to the ORDITAL Database. The ORDITAL Database is a constantly updated manufacturer, brand, model database that can be connected to your assets to enable real time updates and collaboration with your manufacturers.
The underlying database is the salesforce database and the salesforce database measures usage at approximately 2KB per record regardless of how much information is stored on that record. For example, a long text field on the Asset record might store 32KB of data, but only 2KB of your allocation would be used.
By way of example, a 10MB data pack would provide enough space for approximately 1,000 assets and 4,000 photographs to be stored. This would be calculated as (1,000 + 4,000) records x 2KB per record = 10MB. Similarly a 50MB data pack would provide enough space for approximately 5,000 assets and 20,000 photographs. Again, this would be calculated as (5,000 + 20,000) records x 2KB per record = 50MB. Assets and photos will form the vast majority of your database, but database space is consumed for any record such as a case, list, plant, operating unit, etc.
You cannot mix database storage with and without the ORDITAL Database. All purchased data packs must either include or exclude the ORDITAL Database.
PREREQUISITES FOR PURCHASE
The subscription must include at least one connected User License - either Enterprise or Bulk Editor. The database storage included with the connected User License will be added to your allocation and converted to the type of storage purchased.
By way of example, if you purchase 2 x Enterprise and 1 x Bulk Editor Licenses this gives your organization 6MB of data storage. If you then purchase a 10MB Data Pack with ORDITAL Database your organization will have a total of 16MB of Database Storage with ORDITAL Database access.
Data Space Consumed
The approximate number of assets that can be photographed with each data pack is as follows. The assumption is that an average of 2.2 photographs per asset is taken. These numbers are approximate to give customers guidance as to the size of data pack they will require for the number of assets and photos they expect to work with. This space relates to the textual data associated with assets and photos. ORDITAL stores the image files for free during the license period.
